David Hoffman, DPS, CCE

Clinical Professor, University of Albany School of Public Health

David Hoffman, DPS, CCE is Associate Professor of Ethics and Health Policy and Healthcare Management Program Director at Maria College. He is a Clinical Professor of Health Policy Management and Behavior at the UAlbany School of Public Health and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Albany Medical College Alden March Bioethics Institute. He holds a Doctorate in Bioethics from Albany Medical College Alden March Bioethics Institute.

Dr. Hoffman recently retired as Director of the Bureau of Community Integration and Alzheimer’s Disease in the Office of Health Insurance Programs at the New York State Department of Health. For many years, he managed all dementia programming; traumatic brain injury education efforts, Money Follows the Person – a home and community rebalancing initiative, Medicaid Long Term Care Home and Community Based Waiver Programs, the Partnership for Long Term Care insurance program and represented the Health Department on the Geriatric Mental Health Planning Council. Prior to that experience he directed the Bureau of Chronic Disease Services focused on prevention and control of various chronic conditions and community wellness interventions.

Dr. Hoffman serves as a Senior Advisor with Cornerstone Government Affairs, Chairs the Policy Committee of the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors and has served on a number of state and federal advisory groups and Boards of Directors. In addition, he is widely published and has been recognized by numerous organizations including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention “Partners in Public Health Improvement Honor Award” and the NACDD “Award for Outstanding Leadership.”
