The Know Before You Go is now available to help you prepare for a successful travel experience, including information for ground transportation, driving and parking, dining options, physical activity opportunities, local attractions and much more. See some of the highlights below.

The Training Venue

The Hotel

Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center

Check-in is 3 pm and check-out is 12 pm. For the cancellation policy and procedures, see the Registration Information page. Cancellations within 72 hours of the reservation will be charged one night's room rate and tax.

The deadline for hotel reservations was April 17. Reservations made after that date are not guaranteed availability or the special rate of $152/night plus taxes.

Registration/Information Desk

Make your first stop the registration desk to pick up your badge, lanyard, and program guide. Badges are required for entry into sessions.

  • MONDAY (from 7am – 5pm): Prefunction Lobby 2, Level M2
  • TUESDAY (from 8am – 5pm): Prefunction Lobby 2, Level M2
  • WEDNESDAY (from 8am – 5pm): Prefunction Lobby 2, Level M2
  • THURSDAY (from 8:00 am – 5pm): Prefunction Lobby 2, Level M2
  • FRIDAY (from 8am – 12pm): Prefunction Lobby 2, Level M2

Services

Childcare services will not be offered during the National Training; however, two established referral agencies that offer hotel childcare are Nanny Poppinz™ and ACCENT on Children’s Arrangements. Make arrangements for childcare services prior to your arrival.

A breastfeeding lounge will be available for nursing moms who need a private space to use a breast pump. A refrigerator and freezer will be available. Nursing moms can check in at the registration desk for more information.

Travel Information

Getting To the Conference

Airport and Transport

The Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is approximately 12 miles from the hotel.

There are numerous ground transportation options from the airport to the Omni Atlanta Hotel. After getting off your flight, follow the signs to "Ground Transportation" and "Baggage Claim" on the lower level. Options include (approximate rates, does not include gratuity):

  • Taxi Service: $30 each way
  • Shared Shuttle Service: $17 each way; $33 round trip
  • Rideshare (Lyft/Uber): $25 each way; Please note that there may be some difficulties obtaining a rideshare on Wednesday
  • MARTA: Approximately $2.75 each way. Take the train north to the Five Points Station. Take the westbound train 1 stop to CNN/GWCC Station. Take the escalator or elevator up and walk through the CNN building to the hotel entrance.
The South Terminal upper roadway at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is under construction nightly from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am. Plan to be picked up at the North Terminal or catch hotel or other shuttles on the West Curb.

Driving and Parking

Driving directions are provided on the Omni Atlanta Hotel website. When following GPS, use 190 Marietta St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303.

There are a variety of parking options near the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center including:

  • Omni Hotel Parking Garage: Valet parking only. Rates: $20 for 3 hours, $28 for 6 hours, $45 for over 6 hours and overnight parking. National Training guests receive 20% discount overnight valet parking.
  • Omni North Parking Garage: Valet parking only. $16 for 3 hours, $22 for 6 hours, $35 for over 6 hours or overnight parking.
  • Atlanta Public Parking Program: The interactive and up-to-date parking map makes parking in downtown Atlanta easy. Most parking lots are independently operated so call in advance as rates can change daily. 

The Meeting Space

2019 DNPAO National Training sessions will be held in the North Tower, Levels M1 and M2 (floor map). Restrooms are located on Levels M1 and M3 (there are no restrooms located on Level M2). Outside food is not allowed in the meeting rooms. Meeting room temperatures may vary so dress in layers.

EXHIBITS

Twenty organizations will have exhibits at the National Training. Plan to stop by each table in Prefunction Lobby 1, Level M2 to learn more about each organization and how they are leading the charge for a healthier nation!

BRING YOUR TECHNOLOGY

Keep up-to-date with new information with your devices by using the 2019 DNPAO National Training website. Attendees will receive daily e-blasts with highlights for the day and opportunities to provide valuable feedback on your experiences at the National Training. A limited number of charging stations will be available. Don’t forget your charging cables! Free Wi-Fi access is available in all meeting rooms. Guest room Wi-Fi is complimentary for Omni Select Guest® members.

Continuing Education

SOPHE is offering CHES CEUs for the 20th Anniversary REACH Plenary on Tuesday afternoon. Due to the diversity of disciplines attending the weeklong National Training, CEUs have not been sought. Attendees should check their respective credentialing organization for guidance on gaining continuing education credit for the National Training.
