When To Arrive & Depart

The 2024 DNPAO National Training will provide full days of learning on Monday, May 6 through Wednesday, May 8 and the option for either a half-day or full-day on Thursday, May 9. Arrival on Sunday, May 5, is recommended for anyone traveling to Atlanta. Attendees that register for the Family Healthy Weight Programs, Tobacco, and Adult Vaccinations strategy tracks should plan to stay the full day on Thursday. All others have optional structured networking opportunities, technical assistance consulting, team debriefs, and office hours available 9 AM–noon on Thursday. The hotel check-in time is 4 PM and check-out is 11 AM. For domestic travel, travelers should arrive at the Atlanta airport a minimum of 2 hours before your flight’s departure time, and up to three hours before at peak travel times. USING MARTA

MARTA, Atlanta’s public transportation system, is the most efficient transportation between the airport and downtown and has a direct subway line from the airport to Peachtree Center along the Red and Gold lines. Please note that the MARTA airport station will close for renovations April 8 – May 19. Shuttle service will be provided between the airport and the College Park MARTA station. MARTA recommends allotting an extra 30 minutes when taking MARTA to the airport.

PARKING

The Westin Peachtree Plaza offers only valet parking at $55/day. There is an electric car charging station at the hotel and public parking lots available near the hotel.

Centennial Olympic Park offers 22 acres of green-space that is walkable, safe, vibrant and fun. Freedom Park Trail is a paved, shaded and somewhat hilly path that is part of the PATH Foundation's Stone Mountain Trail which extends 19 miles from Downtown Atlanta to Stone Mountain Park. You may also wish to explore the Atlanta BeltLine as well as beautiful Piedmont Park.
